Take the Ride of Your Life!

There’s nothing quite like a great road trip! It takes planning, preparation and intentionality to really enjoy the whole ride.

And so it is with our lives, work and relationships. In order to get to our desired destination, we have to know where we’re going, prepare our engines, decide the route and bring supplies and sometimes people to make it enjoyable, memorable and to the end goal.

At one time or another, we’ve all heard about or experienced a “Road trip from hell” experience. It can be due to poor planning, bad driving, a broken down vehicle or unclear directions. Sometimes it’s due to elements beyond our control.

The truth is, finding and navigating the life/work and relationships we want takes intentionality and regular check in’s to be sure we stay on course.

Here are a few tips to help you on your journey to your dreams/goals:

  • Know your path. Taking someone else’s journey stinks on so many levels. Be sure you know who you are and where you are going. What is your distinct make? Tap into the Creator of your incredible life and confidently know what makes you great. It starts with knowing your values. They are the guideposts to your most fulfilling life journey.

  • Prepare your engine. Make daily choices to keep the engine of your life in good, smooth, running condition. What will it take for you to go the distance? Be sure you’ve made choices that will allow for a smooth ride.

  • Choose your travel companions. So many people I meet have chosen travel companions with names like “should”, “ have to” or “I can’t”. These companions can drive you in circles or take you way off your desired destination.

  • Celebrate the milestones! Take regular pit stops. Life is not a race; it’s a journey. It’s important to stop from time to time, refuel your engine and remember how far you’ve come. This also gives you an opportunity to adjust your route as necessary, in order to enjoy the whole journey.

Feeling like you could use some more fuel, a tune up, new travel companions or a clearer map to reach your goal? I'd be honored to support you in the ride of your life!

Be Inspired,
